This thread is for the pack of Apollyon to roleplay the ceremony of a fallen alpha. Please post only once per character within ranks, even if they refuse to do such a thing to the Lord.
The time quickly approached to start what the fallen alpha requested before death became present, time really did fly. Mercury eyes fell shut, mind reminiscing on past events that shared between the pair, everything had been so great and they achieved so much in a short amount of time, yet it felt like a long road. Attack stood protectively and dominant above the fallen Abyssal Lord, still not wanting any soul near the dear body. Confidence was slowly built up with time, voice of her mate bouncing around in that mind. He wanted her to make the pack feed on his fallen body, to keep him within the pack forever.
Thick neck raised the scarred maw towards the night sky as another howl escaped and broke the previous silence that fell over the kingdom, alerting members to come forward. This was to summon all the members that had been told about the on coming event so they may pay their final respects to the previous lord, and then it was just a waiting period. Ears stood tall to adorn the head in a regal crown, tail standing tall above the spine, confidence radiating from the massive wolf. Attack was on the mission to fulfill the final task that her mate wanted her to complete. Now to just wait for their pack to appear.
"Tonight we pay our final respects to our Abyssal Lord, to Apollyon's departed founder. From the moment we dedicate ourselves to Apollyon, we are protected by it's security forever. We will all remain within the empire far beyond the day we part from this Earth; our flesh shall never be claimed by the elements, but by our still living brothers and sisters and we shall honor our fallen Lord no different. We shall all eat his flesh, we shall all taste his blood and he will remain with us eternally. This is the will of our Lord." Words boomed with a new air that surrounded the beast, molding into a natural leader that Kyte had always seen dormant inside of the Matriarch. Mercury eyes searched the crowd that formed, light color of the female's gaze vivid against the darkness that engulfed the pack, the only light shining from the alive land that they resided in.
And she was going to be the one to pick a part of the male that she wanted. The first to sink incisors into the male she had loved.
Scanning eyes allowed gaze to fall on the large body of the male, time causing the previous limp body to grow stiff. This wasn't going to be a goodbye, they will be together forever. If anything this was an act of promising they will see each other again soon. Thoughts dwelled inside of the now quiet female, chest growing heavy and legs feeling as if a huge weight had been dropped on the alpha once again. Without another word, breath sucked into the flared nostrils to fill the wide chest with air, readying herself. Jaws opened to bite into flesh and fur, ripping through the broken rib cage to get pass the shattered bones and open the cavity to expose the organs that were hidden inside. Attack was going to claim the same one that her mate still held in the afterlife. His heart. Teeth made quick work to slice perfectly through the exposed area, taking time to get to the large heart of the wolf. No time dared to be wasted in the act of removing the organ, holding it carefully in the usual deadly mouth. Kyte's heart was her perfectly claimed part of the leader after thinking about it for hours, he had her heart as well. It made sense in her mind at least. Now with the plucked piece of Kyte, he female was content enough to back off the body and allow the others to partake in the event. Eyes would watch carefully of all the reactions and who refused to allow Kyte to be with them for life.

Azzel had been within the den nursing her two surviving pups looking to the one that was not. She'd deal with that later, not able to bring herself to do anything at the moment. Deep greens would look to her children as they fed and slept. Tail curled about them, till she heard the call from Atta. It must be time for them to do the funeral, why else would the lords body still be laying about.
Soft whine would leave the little woman's lips as she would push the tiny little pups into the grass that grew within the den, as odd as it was, it was perfect for them. Once she knew they were tucked in safe she would lift her semi- heavy body up and move it from the den. Paws would bring her to sit in front of Atta, own eyes scanning all that was around before the booming words of the Alpha would be spoken. At her words, Her eyes grew wide with uncertainty. Yet if it was the will of the Lord, she would oblige. He was one of the main reasons she loved this pack ever so much. Heart heavy she'd clamp her mouth shut holding in her cries.
When the speech was done Azzel would keep her stunned gaze on Atta as she moved to rip into the chest to gently pluck out the lords heart. That was her's and her's alone, Azzel even knew this. Soft gulp would leave her lips as she'd look to the others then to the Lord. She'd take a part of him. To always know he would be with her here, guiding her to do right. To become a better Pack member and raise her children to be like him and follow in his steps.
With her heart in her throat Azzel would step forward and move to her lords hind quarters to take a part of his powerful thighs. Eyes shut as she'd sink her teeth into the fleshy part and gingerly ripped a part from him. Chewing and then swallowing all of it. Her green orbs glittering with her sorrow. No words could leave the woman, none that would fit that is. So she'd keep quiet, say her thanks and love to him in her head as she'd gently press her head against his side then step back to let the others take what they want. Eyes would look to Atta as she'd move over to the her, gave a light nuzzle before she would return to the ups that were within the den that needed her.

The pale female was out walking the borders making sure nothing else could possibly go wrong at a time like this when everything seemed to be falling apart for the pack. But of course soon she heard the howl of atta summoning them to the courtyard. Quick little angel would turn on a dime and dart like a bullet back to the pack incase something had happened and they needed help.
When she got there she saw attack standing over kytes body and she knew what was about to happen. Spirit watched as attack dug into kyte and ripped out his cold dead heart, nodding to herself solemnly. It wouldn't be right if anyone else got that part, as kyte loved attack during his life. Once allowed the white female would quietly move forward. The lass would look at kyte for a time, his body slightly jerking due to the fact that parts of his flesh and meat where being torn from him, it was almost like he was moving and filled with life, even if that involved his slumbering form loosing parts of himself with every motion.
Spirit sighed longingly and moved towards kytes stomach reaching to take a chunk of the stomach meat that was most likely exposed by now, after taking what she needed to for the passing of kyte to be one of peace and happiness at least for him, as that what was what mattered she backed away to let others take their piece. Still lingering close to Attack incase she needed her.

The dark female had felt broken since receiving the news of her father's untimely death. Not even a year old and one of the strongest figures in her life was taken away in barely the blink of an eye. She had been off in the jungle with a brother, her closest and most favorite of all the siblings, and he had shown her a beautiful place. They actually had fun there, had been spending a little alone time together without everyone else getting in the way, without the thought of training and not a care in the world. It seemed like it had been a long time ago, the world slowing down drastically when the first howl rang out. She had kept her brother close, worry, fear, and uncertainty keeping her rooted in place. The howl had been heartbreaking to hear. She'd never forget the sound.
It hadn't been until later that their mother had come. She had been worried and slightly upset with them, that they had disappeared from the safety of the courtyard and the den, but the news she brought had thrown them both into shock. They had started out for home shortly after the massive female had taken off to tell any others, and had gotten back shortly after the premature birth of Azzelia's pups. Truthfully, it had been her own fault they had gone so slowly. She had been just so shocked, she had gotten them off the trail once or twice, having led the other along since he was so quiet and distant.
And now they were here, and she hadn't actually looked at the corpse until now. He really was gone. She had only heard whispers of what had happened, and truth be told.. she blamed the two hooligan brothers that had gone off in search of a bear. She felt deep in her bones that she may never forgive them, but time would tell for that. Hearing her mother's words of devouring their leader was, at first a heavy weight on her. In her upbringing, it didn't seem that odd, but somewhere in her mind there was a voice that said it was strange and foreign. Her mother took no time in removing the heart, something that she felt was just.. natural. She watched the brown woman follow suit with taking flesh, and somehow it made her angry. Maybe jealous that she hadn't waited for his spawn and closest family to go first. Maybe upset that they were doing this at all, even if it was her father's wish. Who knew. After that was the white woman, the one she had never really interacted with but knew she was also close to father.
If she had to do this, she would do it. If only to appease her father in his dying wish. Pink eyes found the corpse again, and she let hesitant paws carry her to it, stopping to look down at him. Why did he have to go so soon? Hadn't he said somewhere along the line that he wanted to see her become great? Wasn't that a father's promise anyway? A growl left her, mad at him for leaving like this, mad at her siblings for causing it to happen, and mad at herself for feeling this way. She sank her teeth into his shoulder and ripped at the flesh, tearing away a chunk and darting away a few feet. The shoulder she'd never be able to lean on anymore, gone and devoured with a breath of a sigh, emotions overwhelming her and carrying her off to her claimed stone above the den. She would brood there, a paw over her snout, crying to herself in the way a wolf could.. with the softest whines and whimpers to herself.

(Posting as Stun, whom I also play.)
The boy had only moved away from his father's corpse when his mother came back to protectively claim it, standing over it like a statue for a time as he moved aside and simply watched her. It was hard to make eye contact with the woman, or anyone really- in a time like this. Ruby stare fell over the silhouettes of the others in the courtyard as his mother gave her speech.
In any other instance, Stun would be tall and confident, a mirror image of his mother and father with his growing dominant demeanor that mimicked theirs. However, at this moment.. guilt was still washing over him furiously. Ears fell back slightly as his mother's voice boomed out to the rest of them and he intently listened to her words. So this was the way of their people? To ingest the body of their fallen friends in order to keep them alive and well in the blood of others. It seemed eerie.. but honorable. Ears would slowly rise as Spirit and Azzel began walking up to his father's frame and something inside of the boy snapped. Even as his mother devoured his heart, he instantly felt protective.
Chest wound prevented him from moving all too quickly, but with haste the ashen child moved over to partake. He wouldn't miss it for the world! If eating the flesh of his father meant that this was the way his father could watch over him and remain alive within him forever, then Stun would eat until his stomach couldn't anymore. With a slight growl to any others that got close to him enough to make him think they were threatening to push him off, he would begin pulling fur and flesh from his father's back as Cautious plucked some off his shoulder, picking his spine and ribcage clean beside her until she moved away. He felt the closeness of his mother, Spirit, Cautious and Azzel all retract from the body but Stun did not stop. He would make sure every last morsel of his father's flesh were claimed by Apollyon. He would pull powerful muscles away from their sinew and skeleton, his gray-scale face quickly becoming blackened and even more similar to his father's due to the old blood that became congregated around his muzzle.
After all, the idea of his father watching over him.. meant.. maybe one day Stun could make this all up to him. Maybe one day, his father would watch Stun grow into something to be proud of. Something more than an all too eager pup that wanted to get into some trouble. He was dedicated to the man that saved his life, even now that the man were dead. If his father wanted his flesh claimed by Apollyon, then he would ensure that it would be!

Post by Mute on Jun 4, 2015 15:43:09 GMT -6
After an emotional farewell awakened the howl slumbering deep within the voiceless child, Mute had succumbed to the mental exhaustion plaguing her body and her vulnerable consciousness was dragged helplessly into dark recesses of her mind. With familiar rock walls surrounding her, and any pack members that also chose to dwell there, she slept for what could be perceived as an eternity. Time was a concept lost with the passing of their Abyssal Lord and hours came to resemble days to the heavy hearts of Apollyon. For the young progeny who curled tightly in on herself as though rejecting the world, her thoughts were instead brimming with vivid memories of the massive black wolf that had once stood proudly beside her.
Inside her dreams she could see her father's powerful visage and relive the moments she spent with him as well as the teachings he shared. It wasn't long ago that she had stood beneath his massive shadow and gazed upon his gnarled one-eyed mask; stern yet kind. Their days together had been a mere fraction of her life but that was precisely the reason why she revisited them repeatedly. While the memories still burned brightly she allowed herself to be engulfed by them and in doing so she would never forget. Time no longer held importance. In those minute encounters she spent with her father he had bestowed her with more gifts than she could ever hope for: warmth, strength, and most importantly love. What he had given her was irreplaceable and precious. However as most dreams do, the end must come eventually.
When that fateful howl rang across the sky the young wolf forsook her prolonged reminiscing and pried her thin frame sluggishly from the warm security of the den to join obediently with the others. She had arrived slightly later than everyone else, thus missing a portion of her mother's speech, though everything sounded so distant that it didn't even matter. She was already well aware of the actions about to transpire and merely awaited an opportunity to approach the corpse. Watching her father steadily being torn apart was heartbreaking, especially Oath's ravenous display, yet she observed with unwavering eyes as each body stepped forward intending to burn the scene into her memory. She had already given her final goodbyes on that day but today would be the last.
As she took a place in front of her father she realized just how extensive his injuries truly were. Aside from the damage inflicted during the funeral it was obvious that her father had fought a hard battle. He seemed so small now.. or maybe she just got bigger? After the numerous training sessions Mute was finally beginning to grow into her figure and muscle had already begun to form making her extremities seem less disproportionate. The strokes of grays and dusty browns littering her features had also become more prominent with the passing days - a sure sign she was growing up. She was no longer the fragile pup she had once been.
While her elder brother continued devouring their father dull deep rubies drifted silently to his relatively-in-tact mask - at least compared to his body - and she noticed that his only remaining eye was missing leaving behind an empty socket. It made her heart sink slightly at first but as minutes ticked on whether the eye was present or not became irrelevant. She could still remember that burning ember even now and that would suffice. Without hesitation, avoiding her brother's protective hold on the corpse, she dipped her head forward to glide her tongue across her father's exposed cheek and promptly sank her teeth into his dark socket. Digging in as far as her amateurish incisors would allow, she sliced a path down the Lord's scarred face and tore free at the base of his cheek. Iron seeped into her mouth flooding over her tongue as she clutched the torn flesh in her jaws, and after a moment she wolfed it down with her pink tongue gliding quickly across her blood-soiled muzzle.
After laying her mark in its place her attention returned to her father's tattered body. Even in his current state she found herself thinking that he had won the battle. He had protected them at the cost of his life. While she held mixed feelings towards her brothers who unintentionally had a hand in their father's death, she came to understand that her father would always be with her. From now on he would live through her and she would never forget his towering figure even when she drew her final breath. Retreating from the broken corpse a short ways she took a moment to glance at the various faces gathered around the courtyard and she soon realized that everyone was suffering in some way or another - it wasn't just her. She had to become stronger. A short bow was given to her father before she tore herself completely from his side and set her sights on her mother. Everyone was beginning to change and so would she.
With a confident stride and deep rubies glimmering with a new found light, she strode in beside her mother and seized a spot near her shoulder where she could lay softly against the massive wolf. From that moment on she made a promise to herself. To the best of her abilities she would support Apollyon alongside her mother and learn every shred of knowledge she had to offer. There would never be another night where she would call for her father. Her smoldering gaze shifted to the scene of the funeral as it proceeded, observing just as her mother did and pack members that sought to claim their piece. However, as she watched intently from the company of her mother there was a brief second where her eyes had closed and her thoughts hummed a silent message.
'Father, thank you.'
( SORRY IT'S REALLY LONG.. LOL. I hope you guys don't mind. )

Night had come all too quickly and so had the lay moments with the young boy’s father. While their time had been short, it seemed as if everything had made its mark on the young boy. No matter if he was still nursing his wounds, today was not for him. Each took their turn as the mother of the pack called out his father’s last wishes. It was Ace who sat back against the bounders. While his crimson gaze followed each soul who dared to pass by him, he did not move until the silence and sounds of indigestion hit the air.
When he did move, the boy was as tall as ever. Everything from his body screamed of his father. A strong and tall frame was just as his father and his brother’s. While he limped on three of his paws, he moved as what was expected of him. Within his chest, his own heart plummeted as his crimson gaze fell on the woman who consumed the heart. It took quite a time for the young man to pull his gaze away from the woman. Each body fell from the fallen lord except for one. While he was not content to do this, he would perform his father’s last request. This was the man that had raised him. He was the man that had used his last moments to protect him and Stun. There would be no going against what he asked. So, Ace did as what was expected of him. With his shoulder, as bloody and bruised as it was, pressed against Stun, he began the task that was requested of him. With his lip curling and finally turning down, the young boy allowed his jaws to circle the flesh that remained.
Every part of their father would be gone and a part of Apollyon. Assert would make sure of that along with his brother. In this moment, he would allow for everything that he was to be given to the man that he had caused to die. This was a silent promise for the boy to make his father proud one way or another. Ace would be more than was ever expected of him. He would be a man in the shadow of his father. The time would come when their life was claimed. Before that time came, he had one task to complete: Make his father proud.
